Can you provide a brief overview of your job responsibilities?

I help recruit International staff members to work at summer camps across the states including Kanata. I help with visas, insurance, and flights to ensure they can have the same amazing experience as me.

Do you have any career advice for members of our Camp community?

Camp can help in so many ways, the amount of responsibility you get at Camp is unmatched in most jobs early on. Really lean on your experience at Camp and use the network of friends that you make.

What do you believe have been some of your greatest personal and professional accomplishments? Is there a goal toward which you are currently working?

I’ve been part of teams that have sent 10,000 people to summer camps from all across the Globe. We recently worked with a Ukrainian refugee charity to allow kids to access summer camps in Poland which is just incredible. This season starts soon so getting more Internationals to Kanata and other camps across the States is always the goal.

How do the values or skills you learned at Camp show up in your everyday work and/or personal life?

My ability to talk with others from different backgrounds certainly came from Camp as well as my ability to speak publicly in front of crowds. I’ve met so many incredible people through my time at Camp and they’ve certainly taught me and had a huge impact. So not only Camp but the wider community as a whole.

Camp taught me to lean on others when I need a helping hand, ask questions, don’t be afraid to try new things, and most importantly have fun with whatever I’m doing.

Is there a person or a situation that had a huge influence on you while you were at Camp? How and why did they/it impact you?

Where do you even begin? Day Camp and the staff I worked with is where I got the most. Marcus, Rory, Dylan, and Shannon each taught me massive amounts and I’m so grateful for my time with them and the great friendships it has formed.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Get involved, be silly, make mistakes and learn from them. I am who I am because of Camp, so my advice is to stay and soak it up until your next challenge comes along.
